Carpenter Talks Escape From New York

Not long ago it was announced that a remake of John Carpenters Escape From New York would be underway. Today an interview with the man went up that was conducted by The Suicide Girls. Oddly enough it doesn't even sound like this time its going to be a remake but rather a prequel, "I donâ€™t know that itâ€™s a remake. I think itâ€™s a lot about Snake before he gets to New York."

Carpenter also said that he will be on board the film as Executive Producer and won't have to much involvement other than reading over the script and making sure it stays true to the Snake Plissken character. But he also manages to sneak this comment in as well, "My other main involvement in this project is to extend my hand and have a check placed in it."

Personally I love John Carpenters movies but I have always disliked the man. From comments like those I can't help but wonder what the hell is he thinking? This is a franchise that fans love and to see it possibly get driven into the ground because Carpenter wants to make a quick buck is pretty disturbing. Hopefully though we will get a great film out of this. Keep it here for more because we will definetly have more coverage on this film as soon as we hear it.
