Shawn of the Dead Movie Review

review contains spoilers! Ok let me start off by saying if i have a kid
I am naming him Shaun. Her is the reason why. I was suppose to go out
with this girl tonight but then I found out that Shaun had a sneak
preview tonight. So I was trying to figure out a way of blowing her off
with out ruining my chances. Well when i called her she told me that
the movie i wanted to see was playing and we should go. My heart
skipped a beat. So I bought the tix and off we go. Ok on to the review.
The movie opens with Shaun's girlfriend talking to him about their relationship. She wants more and he feels things are going fine. He promise to do better and promises to take hr out to dinner the next day. During the day he begins to notice funny little things but blows it off. Well needless to say he screws things up and loses his girl friend. His best friend Pete takes him out to drink his problems away. One of the funniest scene is Pete and Shaun singling White Lines with a zombie taking the bass in the song. Shaun makes plan while drunk to win his girl back.
Well shauns luck is still the same a zombie infest ion begin and he must save the people he loves. Once Shaun and Pete figure out the deal and how to kill the zombies they make a plan to save Shaun's mom and his ex girlfriend. In a tribute to Romero Shaun's mom calls him and he tells her he is coming to get her. She tells him she is ok and doesn't want to be a bother. Tribute time: Pete screams into the phone " we're coming to get you Barbara" Shaun's mom is named Barbara. Sweet tribute. The first of two i must say. Well they save his mom and head to pick up his girlfriend. They get to her place and head off to a place Shaun thinks is safe. A pub named Winchester. Once inside Shaun finds out that his mother was bitten and is going to die. In a very sad part Shaun's mother dies and he knows he has to put her down. Another tribute to Romero comes when one of the people in Shaun's group get pulled through a window and is ripped apart just like Rhodes was. It would have been great if he said Choke on them while they ate his guts, but he didn't.
I have to say this move had some good zombies in it, it had a ton of funny jokes, and it had some jumpy moments. There was some sad parts also like when he loses his best friend Pete to the zombies. But at the end there is great scene I won't ruin that bit by telling you but it will warm your heart. I say on Sept 24th you better get your tix and watch this movie. Everyone in the crowd laughed, jumped, and got grossed out at the parts they should have. I will be seeing this movie once again when it opens on the Sept 24th. I know this review is bit long but I have to say Shaun of the Dead is a dam good movie. Well written well acted and well directed. I am even going to get the soundtrack when it comes out. Oh and as for the girl i took to see the movie. She is down stair in the bathroom changing for Bed. Go me.
