Galactacus Fantastic Four : Rise of the Silver Surfer Updates

Posted by: Tim
Our boy Mike emailed us an update on Galactacus in the new Fantastic Four movie. Tim Story has made it clear they are working on his design but nobody knows for sure if its going to happen.
Hey guys,

There's a lot going on. I've been seeing the billboards going up and hopefully you have all seen the TV spot. I thought it turned out well. I've been checking the web to see what people think. Always good to check in. There are still those that can't give us a break but whadayagonnado?! Haters! Wow.

There continues to be much speculation about Galactus. Major speculation. We haven't finished the design of him/it so be careful about what you read and believe. Trust me...no one knows. One things for sure, you can expect to see him/it. It will be pretty powerful. I'm having a lot of fun with the concept and believe me - MOST will be satisfied.

Doom? Oh he's coming. Just wait. Classic look! And we definitely touch on his roots in the film. We're working long hours to make it right. Sorry I've been so quiet! Talk to you soon.
"Rise of the Silver Surfer" has given rise to a lot of controversy as the first images and teaser trailer have been released. Fans seem divided, but what else is new? Even questions about his eyes have caused a rather large ruckus among comic fans. Speaking to that specific complaint, I have to say that I’m about as much of a purist when it comes to the appearance of a character as it’s possible to be. I know he has solid silver eyes that are metallic and shiny like the rest of him, but I’m not averse to the more human eyes. And I’ll tell you why; it’s Silver Surfer on screen! And he looks awfully good!

Considering that the movie is all about the Fantastic Four and the Silver Surfer as the title would lead you to believe, I’m riveted by the teaser trailer. It’s too exciting to express my fangirl love of seeing the Surfer in a big screen movie, and that teaser is my first taste of a delirious geeky heaven. Then again, I loved the first movie, so if you weren’t impressed with the original, I wouldn’t expect you to be too interested in the sequel. But my question is this; would you prefer the 1994 film? I appreciate so many of the lesser comic movies these days, because no matter what anyone thinks, I feel it could always have been a lot worse.

2005’s "Fantastic Four" was a long way from being "Batman & Robin," and I got what I expected from it. The film was fun with good action and likable characters. I expect the same from the second movie. And, I have to admit, I could not be more stoked for the Surfer’s big debut. This is a huge deal for Surfer fans, and I’m just too eager to finally see him in action in a theater (with the Fantastic Four no less) to let anything ruin this for me.

If you’re anything like me, and you want to see "FF2" for the action and sheer fun of it and because you love the characters, and especially if you love Silver Surfer, check out the trailer a couple dozen times and cheer as you watch the Surfer for the first time ever realized with such fluid beauty and vision cruising along as The Human Torch chases him down. And then, hold your breath when the Surfer gets tired of being chased and turns the tides on Johnny Storm as only the Surfer could. Surfer fans, get on board, because I think "Rise" is going to be one hell of a cool ride. Watch the FF2 Trailer below!
