CRAZY is coming to DVD and we have 3 free copies up for grabs. C.R.A.Z.Y., the critically acclaimed film from director Jean-Marc Vallée, explores the triumph and beauty of acceptance, both of oneself and others. The film chronicles the first 20 years of Zac’s (Marc-André Grondin) life, focusing on the contentious relationship he has with his father Gervais (Michel Côté). The pain they endure and, ultimately, the love they exude for one another has made this heart-warming coming-of-age film a smash hit in Canada, earning over $5 million at the box office.

Zachary Beaulieu was born on December 25, 1960, a blessing according to his very Catholic mother (Danielle Poulx). One of five brothers, his father seems to favor him over the others, but Zac’s birth date is just one of many things that sets him apart from his siblings. When Gervais senses unusual behavior in his son at an early age (such as Zac’s penchant for his mother’s clothing), their relationship changes. He becomes disdainful of him, an aversion that Zac will spend the rest of his childhood trying to overcome. Zac still shows signs of those tendencies through his teenage years (such as his David Bowie-style glam-rock look), but his father’s conservative values push him to repress his sexuality. As Zac ultimately makes his pilgrimage towards self-acceptance, Gervais must also journey on the road to acceptance of his son.

C.R.A.Z.Y. earned top awards at Toronto International Film Festival, AFI Fest, and 10 Genie Awards including Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Actor (Côté). Praise was also given to the unique, eclectic soundtrack of the film, which ranges from Pink Floyd to Patsy Cline. The film will now be available on DVD from Genius Products on February 20, 2007. To enter this contest shoot an email to us with your name/age/address and the subject "CRAZY" to contests@moviesonline.ca and we will pick 3 winners.
