Zack Snyder Talks WatchmenPosted by: MichaelZach Snyder has provided us with some new updates on his upcoming project The WatchMen. He let us know at this weekends 300 Junket that he has not tried to change the story, but instead to stick to the original story. According to Zach Snyder there has been a push on the other scripts that exist for The Watchmen to be updated to take place in the present day. He is confident that by setting the movie in 1985 during the cold war, and having Nixon in the story people will relate to and enjoy the film more.
Zach believes that Alan Moore made a great comic with very deep themes and hopes his film will do it justice. When asked about the use of CGI in the film I think Zach said it best by letting it be known he will use it when needed, but wont over do it.
Look for our interview with Zach Snyder later in the week. The film begins with the paranoid delusions of a half-insane hero called Rorschach. But is Rorschach really insane or has he in fact uncovered a plot to murder super-heroes and, even worse, millions of innocent civilians? On the run from the law, Rorschach reunites with his former teammates in a desperate attempt to save the world and their lives, but what they uncover will shock them to their very core and change the face of the planet! Following two generations of masked superheroes from the close of World War II to the icy shadow of the Cold War comes this groundbreaking comic story - the story of The Watchmen.
