Alvin and the Chipmunks on the Big Screen

The cartoon that I'm sure all of us grew up on is coming to the big screen. Fox 2000 Pictures, Twentieth Century Fox Animation and Bagdasarian Productions will produce a live-action/computer-generated event motion picture of Alvin and the Chipmunks, it was announced today by Chris Meledandri, President of Twentieth Century Fox Animation; Elizabeth Gabler, President of Fox 2000 Pictures; Ross Bagdasarian, Jr.; and Janice Karman.

Right now the film is in very early stages and they are looking to get an A list comedian to play Dave Seville, the chipmunks "father figure". Ross Bagdasarian Jr., and Janice Karman are going to produce.

I don't know exactly how to take this news. I liked the Chipmunks when I was a kid but to go see something like that in the theatres now is alittle weird. Plus I don't believe this show has been on in quite awhile so they are going to have to do alot of press and media coverage to get this thing rolling.
