Undead Movie Review

Wow. That is the only word that I can use to describe this truly magnificent movie.

The story line is much like a lot of other zombie movies. A meteor crashes into another meteor and sends chunks of flaming rock down onto the earth. But there are two things that happen here, firstly I lied, the rocks only fall on Australia and secondly the rocks break off into small and large chunks. This is where the fun really starts. Because not only do the rocks kill people when they hit them, but the rocks carry a virus, and even if you aren’t dead you get infected with this virus and eventually turn into a super strong, super stupid, brain eating zombie. Well a few survivors (Two cops, A farmer, A crazed weapon owning, loony farmer, a pregnant lady and her husband a charter flight guy.) stumble upon a run down farmhouse (Night Of The Living Dead anyone?) that just as it happens belongs to the loony weapons owner. Hordes of zombies break into the house and the survivors’ pile into an underground bomb shelter. But they need to come up because the pregnant lady begins to have contractions. The fun really starts from there, blades, guns, aliens, underwear, vans and planes. This is an extremely gory and funny zombie movie. It kind reminds me of the Peter Jackson zombie movies, Braindead and Bad Taste.

This is an all rounder wicked zombie movie, the zombies look real enough to believe, and even on an incredibly low budget the Spierig brothers really pulled it together. The humour is intense and slapstick. The way a character would react to a scene is classic. Like the hard out Aussie cop when he first enters the farmhouse, "In my day we fucking respected our parents, we didn’t fucking eat them." That is just a sample of the level of humour that is in this movie. The Special Effects rule, you can’t even tell half the time when something has changed from prop dummy to actual actor. It is great.

I loved this movie, it was all I expected and more, I reckomend this movie and I state my growing reputation that you will love this movie. Put this on your "To Buy, " and "To Watch" list for sure.
Verdict 10/10
