Appleseed Movie Added

Today I have added Appleseed to our movies database. I believe this is the first anime movie in our database, but it is far from your typical anime fare! I saw a short clip of this movie on my trip to Festival of Fear and also received a promotional DVD from the reps from Geneon Entertainment.

Lets just say I've watched the trailer over a dozen times and still cannot get enough of it. Appleseed is the first FULLY 3D CGI movie to come from Japan. It is, as stated, fully rendered in 3D CGI but still relies heavily on the cell shading style that anime is known for. It's a very well done mix of the old and the new styles of animation.

Anyways, this is apparenently the 2nd Appleseed movie to be released (the first used traditional cell shading animation). I'm not too big into the anime scene to be quite honest, but I am REALLY looking forward to this film! Expect a theatrical release sometime in November of this year and DVD release to follow in February or March of 2005!
