2007 Golden Globe WinnersPosted by: JerricaThe ballots were cast and the envelopes were handed out, and we now have the newly honored winners for this year’s Golden Globe Awards. There were only a few surprises this year, and some very deserving talent took home statuettes. In film, there were no shocks, but plenty of buzzing performances that seemed to have really earned their wins. "Babel" came away with Best Motion Picture – Drama. "Dreamgirls" took it for Best Motion Picture – Comedy or Musical. In Drama nominees, Forest Whittaker won for Best Actor for "The Last King of Scotland" and Helen Mirren won for "The Queen." Among the Comedy nominations, Sacha Baron Cohen won for "Borat" and Meryl Streep took home an accolade for her wonderful performance in "The Devil Wears Prada." In television, there were a few surprises and upsets, but the competition was extraordinarily heavy this year. "Grey’s Anatomy" was not one of the surprises as it stole the lead category for Best TV Series – Drama. Hugh Laurie won for Best Actor in a TV Drama for the second year in a row, beating out "24" star Kiefer Sutherland who was certainly just as worthy for the win. In what was certainly an unexpected win to some, "Ugly Betty" and its star America Ferrera took home two Golden Globes.
