More talk of Battlestar Gallactica Movie

Its time to rehash a really old news item. In November of 2004 we told you that their was talk of doing a Battlestar Gallactica movie and now the rumor mill is churning again. Its all over the internet that a film is coming. All be it, no solid proof, and no word on whether it would push for a theatrical or go straight to dvd. I am a big fan of the series, but does it have the legs to hold a theatres attention?

Director/Producer/Writer and Composer Glen A. Larson talked to IESB, during the "Buck Rogers" DVD release event two years ago, and told them, that he is still interested in making a "Battlestar Galactica" movie, with the series original cast Dirk Benedict and Richard Hatch.

Because of Larson owning the theatrical rights, there would be no problem to make a movie with the old series cast, although thereâ€™s the new TV-series out. The crew behind the original late 70â€™s series thinks about the new series that: "The new Battlestar Galactica is not a bad show but they should of called it something else."

Richard Hatch and Dirk Benedict would like to wear their "Battlestar Galactica" uniforms again, and even though there is no storyline yet, Larson said, that the movie would be faithful to the original series and of course the fans: "We have some pretty good ideas and it will be a great journey to bring BSG back.".
