Resident Evil : Afterlife – Resident Evil 2 sequel ?

Because of the success Resident Evil – Apocalypse (the movie opened at 3284 cinemas across North America, and made about 23,7 million dollars in 3 days) has at the moment, "Screen Gems" and "Impact Pictures" think about doing another sequel titeled "Resident Evil - Afterlife".

Anderson said to the Hollywood Reporter : "I always thought of the 'Resident Evil' films as a trilogy, The first film was a prequel to the game world. The new movie intersects the film and game worlds. And the third movie will act as a follow-up to the games. It's a nice arc -- prehistory, in-game and then a sequel to the games."

As reported earlier, Milla Jovovich said she would be interested in doing a 3rd installment of the series.

Let’s see how well the movie does at the box-office the next weeks, and if they still are interested in doing another one.
