Resident Evil 2 Apocalypse Movie Review by MichaelPosted by:Well I just saw Resident Evil 2 Apocalypse in theatres with Jon, the resident MoviesOnline camera man and part time reviewer of films. This movie I had such high hopes for and it stunk so bad that I can hardly even do a review for it. I will start with some good points. No spoilers in my review, so its gonna be short, sweet and to the point. I will let you other MoviesOnline members spill the meatier details since im not master reviewer.
The start was very strong, the opening sequence was fantastic, the opening the hive, the caravan of vans, and the crash. All of it just had me going "oh yeah, thats the shiznit". Then it pretty much took a big steamy crap in my popcorn. It seems that for some reason Alexander Witt decided that he would blur all of the large zombie scenes in the start. My feeling is he tried to make it look deliberate, but I get the feeling that the zombie effects sucked some major ass and he realized it and decided to cover it up with some whonky camera effects. Lets just say it was so annoying I felt like Jon who was sitting beside me had fed me some of that popcorn the opening scene of this movie had just crapped in. The fight scenes were horrible and blurry. It was like they shot it all in really slow mo with no choreography and then sped it all up to cover the fact up. The combat was so fast and blurry you might as well have cut to a fish bowl and let me watch some gold fish swim around and just keep playing the Resident Evil 2 dialogue. I wouldnt have missed much. The ending of this movie, all I can say is craptastic. Not going to tell you why, just going to say craptastic. Overall this movie was predictable, lame, and made me hope to god that when number 3 rolls around im in a geriatrics ward so I dont have to see it. Oh and for those of you who are Mila fans dont worry there is a great nude shot in the end which will have you going WTF and feeling very dirty. Whoever decided that nude shot was flattering and "added to the movie" must have spent the weekend before smoking PCP's
