The Quiet on DVD Feb 13th

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment announces the release of The Quiet on DVD.  A suspenseful thriller from Sony Pictures Classics, The Quiet stars Elisha Cuthbert (The Girl Next Door, TV’s “24”), Camilla Belle (When a Stranger Calls), Martin Donovan (TV’s “Weeds”) and Emmy® and Golden Globe® winner Edie Falco (1999, 2001, 2003 Emmy for Outstanding Leading Actress in a Drama; 2000, 2003 Golden Globe for Best Actress in a TV Series Drama, “The Sopranos”), and was directed by Jamie Babbit (But I’m a Cheerleader). The DVD will be available on February 13, 2007 for  $24.96 SLP.

A haunting film about the danger of keeping secrets, The Quiet resonated with critics.  Larry Carrol of MTV called The Quiet “a powerful tale of seclusion, sexual abuse and sisterhood while Bill Bregoli of Westwood One raved, “Camilla Belle and Elisha Cuthbert give two of the year’s best performances.”

This erotic and suspenseful tale of sex, lies and betrayal stars Elisha Cuthbert (The Girl Next Door) as Nina Deer, a pretty cheerleader whose life is turned upside-down by the arrival of her parents’ godchild Dot (Camilla Belle, When a Stranger Calls), a deaf and mute girl recently orphaned by her father’s death. Although Nina looks upon Dot’s deafness with disdain, her family and friends develop a strange attraction to her, and Dot soon becomes a sounding board for everyone’s heaviest burdens.  But when Nina becomes convinced that Dot is hiding a few secrets of her own, she decides to confess a family secret so disturbing, it cannot be ignored.  Also starring Martin Donovan (TV’s “Weeds”) and Edie Falco (TV’s “The Sopranos”).
