Harold & Kumar Sequel Snags Superman Star?

While New Jersey native Kal Penn is out doing interviews for "Van Wilder 2: The Rise of Taj," he’s been talking about an untitled sequel going into the works for his biggest success to date "Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle" with the original stars reprising their roles, John Cho as Harold and Penn as Kumar.

This summer Penn had a small role in the most high-profile film he’s ever appeared in, Bryan Singer’s "Superman Returns." Apparently, since there is a film connection between Penn and "Superman" himself, Brandon Routh, they are hoping to deliver a super cameo for the now famous actor who is the new face of the Man of Steel.

SuperheroHype.com had this quote from the young actor: "Actually, we are in discussions with Brandon Routh to do a cameo. I don't know if I was supposed to say that... Right now they don't even have a title for the script yet, it's in the very early stages." After Penn covered the tentative nature of all this, he added, "I know Brandon was a fan of the first film."

It seems they are trying to get many more cameos for the sequel than they had for the original, and according to Penn, they are running down the list to see who is interested. If the newest Superman himself joins the list of guests, he could be one of the biggest names to appear.
