Review of 50 First Dates by NodPosted by:If you missed 50 First Dates at the theater and are looking for a great comedy with romance rental this weekend, keep this one in mind. Star Power * Adam Sandler, Drew Barrymore, Rob Scneider, Sean Astin, and Dan Akyroyd. They all have friendly, enjoyable, well crafted characters. This movie is about Henry (Sandler) and how he changes his player ways the day the sparks fly when he meets Lucy (Barrymore) in the midst of building a house out of her waffles at a local diner in Hawaii. The catch is, Lucy was in an accident a year ago and now has short term memory loss and is unable to make any new memories. When she wakes up in the morning, she thinks it's the same day, every day. If you're a fan of Sandler's films, this will be no dissappointment. The entire cast has moments of brilliance in comedy, so the attention is not on Sandler's over the top showmanship. Drew Barrymore is both charming and easy to look at throughout the film, tamed down and cheese-less. I would challenge any anti-Drew and Sandler person out there to not like these characters. RENTability - 8/10 Stoics, cynics, and bitter folk stay away. This is a fun and happy movie, so if you're in a stick out your tounge at fun mood, rent Trainspotting. Great for couples.
