Lions Gate Films picks up some Asian movies

Lions Gate Films has announced that they are bring "Three...Extremes" to the American shores for next summer. "Three..Extremes" is a horror trilogy with three short films in it entitled "Dumplings", "Cut" and "Box". The directors for these films are Fruit Chan, Park Chan Wook and Takashi Miike.

In additoin to "Three...Extremes" LGF also acquired the Pang Brothers film "The Eye 2"  I have heard that the sequel is not very good. I have seen "The Eye" and that film was great. So I would recommend watching that film to get a feel of what this film is about. They are usually available at your local Blockbuster or Hollywood Video.

And now for the understatement of the year.

 "You can't say you are focusing on the horror genre without paying close attention to what is happening in Asian cinema," said Peter Block, Lions Gate Entertainment president of acquisitions and co-productions.
