Paul Anderson talks Castlevania

There were reports of Paul W.S. Anderson talking about this movie a while back but just looking around the web today I found the first look at the one sheet for it. As reported before it has been picked up by Rogue Pictures which is giving it a $50 million dollar budget. Not bad for a game to film flick and we can all thank god that Uwe boll is not at the helm of this one as well since he seems to be the current king of video game movies. As of yet there are no cast announcements but they have time since they plan to start shooting next spring in Hungary and Budapest, the latter being where they are building the interior of Draculaâ€™s massive castle Director of Resident Evil And AvP, Paul W.S. Anderson spoke to IGN not too long ago and has this to say about the film:

"It's going to explain how the Belmont clan and Dracula first come into contact, so in a way, it's going to be a genesis story of the clash between the Belmonts and Dracula. It's going to span the ages as well, which is one of the fun things about the games. There are Castlevania games in the 1500s, there are Castlevania games in the Second World War, there are Castlevania in the future, and we're going to take the same kind of approach. It's going to be a very mythic story spanning hundreds of years, but the key characters are going to be Dracula and Simon Belmont. And the whip is going to be intact, although there'll be lots of other weaponry as well."

Sounds good to me being a huge fan of most of the games. Keep your eyes out for this one guys.
