The Endurance Movie ReviewPosted by: Rainbow Ray
"The Endurance" is a rivetting, educational and fun documentary to watch about Robert Shackleton, the man who in 1914 (shortly after the outbreak of WWI in Europe) set sail on an expedition to the Antarctic with his crew. The documentary explores all the hardships he had to endure before, during, after the journey and even when he returned home (the war well under way). It took him three years to complete the journey and it was no "strawberry festival" (nothing wrong with those I guess either), but he managed and if you like documentaries that keep your interest; trust me, this one will. Only an hour and a half long, this documentary is great for all ages and is not to complicated to comprehend. "The Endurance" shows Shackleton as a man who overcame hardship and adversity in order to achieve his "dream" of reaching the Antarctic (I gather he got his idea after Peary was credited with reaching the North Pole first way back when). How would you like to spend your time digging yourself and your ship out of an iceberg patch with a crew that is on the verge of mutiny. I guess you can picture how hard it was for him, but rent this one from the library and you'll find out. Well worth watching. Click Here to Contribute your Own Review.
