You Dont Mess With the Zohan Unrated DVD Movie Review

You Dont mess with the Zohan is what you might expect. Your typical Adam Sandler comedy. If you have seen one you have seen them all from the stand point of the kind of humor you should expect. Its toilet humor, its low brow humor but it does work and it does at times make you laugh out loud... or it did me.

I would be curious to know if Palestinians or Israeli's were offended by this film but it takes equal pot shots at stereotypes about both peoples cultures. Adam Sandler is back as The Zohan, the finest counterterrorist agent the Israeli army has. That is, until he fakes his death and travels to Manhattan to live his dream...as a hairdresser. Now this skilled fighting machine who used to clip bad guys is out to prove he can make the cut as a top stylist.

All goes silky smooth until his cover is blown when he's recognized by a Palestinian cab driver (Rob Schneider). Now, The Zohan must fight to live a peaceful new life in New York. As noted at he start this is not deep humor its not 30 Rock and its certainly not The Office. The humor is raw, to the point and focuses primarily on penis jokes and making 'the stinky' which to Zohan is getting it on with the ladies. Ladies of all ages I might add.

This movie seems to be targetting the teen MTV audience and also luring in a few of us 20 somethings who dont mind sitting back, having a beer and laughing at stupid 'ha ha' comedy. This is by no means Adam Sandler's best comedy but its also not his worst. It at times is laugh out loud funny including a sequence where he gets into a fist fight with a day trader.. and at other times its groaningly stupid like when he gets into a fight with his arch enemy The Phantom. Overall if you have enjoyed Adam Sandlers past films you would likely enjoy this one and should go check it out. If you have more refined comedic tastes you may want to pass on this one.
