20th Century Fox's "X-Men 3" is once again without a director! This tuesday the studio said that Matthew Vaughn is stepping down as director because of personal issues. As the shooting schedule evolved, he realized he would have to move to Los Angeles and Vancouver for at least a year. Not wishing to uproot his family for an extended period.
The X-Men sequel would have been Vaughn's first big-budget studio project, and the director already said he was determined to bring "more heart" to the Marvel superhero characters.
With Bryan Singer (who directed the first 2 movies) now working on Superman Returns and Vaughn stepping back, the studio has to find a director quick, because its only nine weeks to go until principal photography starts. The movie is scheduled to come to cinemas May 26, 2006.
