He made his feature film debut with "Parasite Eve" and went on to direct "Saimin (The Hypnotist)" and a feature length version of "Yo nimo kimyo na monogatari (Tales of the Unusual) as well as the TV dramas "Warui Koto (The Bad Thing), "16 Weeks" and "Diabolique." 

He is one of the most active directors working in both feature films and TV.
