KATE MARA is currently filming “Shooter,” opposite Mark Wahlberg, scheduled for a 2007 release.  Most recently, she appeared as Heath Ledger’s daughter in Ang Lee’s Academy Award-winning drama “Brokeback Mountain,” and co-starred in a five-episode arc on the Fox Television Emmy Award-winning series “24.” 

Mara began acting at the age of 14.  She first appeared in Sydney Pollack’s romantic drama “Random Hearts.”  She then co-starred in Gary Winick’s coming-of-age film “Tadpole,” which earned 2002 Sundance Film Festival honors for both director and film, and co-starred in the independent feature “The Californians.”   Also an accomplished singer, Mara made her professional debut at the Williamstown Theatre Festival in “Landscape of the Body,” with Lili Taylor.
