In the tradition of comedians who have made the transition from the stage to the screen such as Richard Pryor and Bill Cosby, Guy Torry is poised to become the next great actor/comedian.

A fast rising star in Hollywood, Torry sent a jolt through the entertainment community with his stirring portrayal of a jailed inmate who befriends and enlightens a skinhead (Academy Award nominee Ed Norton), in the poignant and critically acclaimed film, Newline's AMERICAN HISTORY X.  Torry received rave reviews for his work in the film, being singled out by publications such as Daily Variety, Entertainment Weekly and New York Magazine, who referred to him as "marvelous," "scene-stealing," and "superb."

Following AMERICAN HISTORY X, Tony appeared as `Radio' in Universal Pictures' comic blockbuster LIFE, with superstars Eddie Murphy and Martin Lawrence, October Films/Beacon Communications' TRIPPIN’, a hip urban comedy about a high school senior given to flights of hilarious fantasy, the UPN sit-com "Good News," and starred in the action/drama series "The Strip," which was executive produced by Joel Silver (DIE HARD, LETHAL WEAPON) for UPNJWarner Bros. Television.

Last summer, Torry hosted the most successful comedy tour, "The Kings of Comedy" 52 city tour, which featured performances by fellow comedians Steve Harvey, Bernie Mac and Cedric the Entertainer.

A native of St. Louis, Missouri, Guy Torry did not set out to conquer the entertainment world. Prepared to settle down into a nice, comfortable life in St. Louis, Torry attended Southeast Missouri State University, where he majored in Marketing. Following a curious desire to see how the other half lived, he decided to head out west to "see how the other half lived."

Once in Las Angeles, Tony landed a job on the Fox network's "Martin" show. While performing his daily duties, he would occasionally interject naturally funny commentary on the tasks that he was being asked to do. His quick wit captured the attention on the shows writers, producers, and eventually the show's star Martin Lawrence, and Torry suddenly found himself working as a contributing writer to the show. Subsequent writing stints would follow, including contributions to sit-coms such as "Minor Adjustments" and "Moesha."

Torry premiered his stand-up talent nationally on HBO's hit comic showcase, "Russell Simmons' Def Comedy Jam." His success quickly resulted in a return appearance on the popular show, and eventually a spot on the "Def Comedy Jam" national tour, for three seasons. Following the "Def Comedy Jam" tour, Torry would return to the "Martin" show to make his acting debut. He would go on to earn roles in the feature films "187," with Samuel Jackson,

Always working to refine his own craft, Guy can regularly be seen performing at comedy clubs around the country including such hot spots as The Comedy Store, Improv, The Comedy Act Theater, The Fun House, The Punchline, The Laugh Factory and others.

Torry is also following his keen entrepreneurial instincts. His production company, Phat Lyke Dat Productions, is actively looking at various film and television vehicles for Torry to produce and/or star in. Currently, the company has two independent projects that Tony is shepherding through the developmental stages.

Aspiring to become a positive role model and an inspiration for people from all walks of life, Guy Torry has perfectly positioned himself to become the first breakout actor/comedian of the new millennium.

Filmography: American History X, Dead and Deader, Pearl Harbor, Slow Burn (2005),
