Originally from Holliston, Massachusetts, Adam Green received his Bachelor of Science degree in Television and Film Production at Hofstra University in New York. While attending college, his first movie, A Voice Named Reason, was nominated as "Best Drama" in the National Broadcasting Awards. Green went on to work as a commercial Producer/Director for Time Warner Entertainment in Boston. It was there that he teamed up with Director of Photography Will Barratt and ArieScope Pictures began. Their short spoof of 80's slasher films, Columbus Day Weekend, wound up gaining the attention of some major agencies and producers within the industry.

Without hesitation, Green wrote his first feature length screenplay, Coffee & Donuts, based on his own life - and he and Barratt set out to shoot it with absolutely no financial support. With the help of friends and volunteers (who worked as everything from cast to crew), Coffee & Donuts was completed... for only $400. They premiered the movie to a standing ovation on November 18th, 1999 and entered it into just one film festival to test the reaction. They won "Best Picture".

In 2003 Coffee & Donuts was bought by Walt Disney Studios/Touchstone Television and developed as a sit-com for the United Paramount Network (UPN). The pilot script was written and co-produced by Adam Green and produced by Michael Bostick and Tom Shadyac (Bruce Almighty, Liar Liar, Ace Ventura, Nutty Professor, ABC's Eight Simple Rules For Dating My Teenage Daughter). The fate of Coffee & Donuts is still unknown.

Green has worked on television shows for NBC, ABC, the WB, Paramount Studios, Warner Brothers Studios, and Touchstone Television. His first feature horror film, Hatchet, is expected to begin production in late 2004.

Most recently, Green was tapped by Lions Gate to write a sequel to 2003's box office horror blockbuster Cabin Fever.
