While Marvel is dominating the live-action comic book movie market, DC has managed to reign supreme when it comes to animated movies. By successfully releasing several animated features a year DC has not only outpaced Marvel when it comes to animated adaptations, but they’ve created an impressive library of quality movies.
That trend is continuing this year with the latest addition to DC’s catalog “Son of Batman.” TV Guide debuted the first look at the animated feature with a trailer that you can view down below. The latest film is based on a series of comics written by Grant Morrison which tell the tale of Damian Wayne, a son Bruce never knew he had. Unlike Bruce’s other proteges, Damian is a violent killing machine who was raised in secrecy by the League of Assassins.
The film features the voice talents of Jason O’Mara as Batman/Bruce Wayne, Stuart Allan as Damian, Morena Baccarin as Talia Al Ghul, Giancarlo Esposito as Ra’s Al Ghul, David McCallum as Alfred, Xander Berkeley as Kirk Langstrom (Man-Bat), and Thomas Gibson as Deathstroke. It’s an impressive ensemble of actors. I just have one question about the trailer: did they really have to use the Wilhelm Scream?
