Star Wars Episode VII Script is Done

I could’ve sworn the script was already done, considering all the drama that broke out when actor Jason Flemyng posted a picture of the script on Instagram.  Well, whatever the case may be, the script is really done this time.  Like, for reals.

While speaking at the Television Critics Association, J.J. Abrams briefly spoke to The Wrap about the status of the script for Star War Episode VII saying that “We’re working really hard and we’ve got our script and we’re in deep prep.  Full steam ahead, y’know”

It was also The Wrap who reported a couple of weeks ago that “Breaking Bad” star Jesse Plemons was being considered for a role in the new Star Wars film.  With Abrams trapped between a Sarlacc Pit and a hard place, The Wrap moved in to confirm whether or not the director had met with Plemons.

He is one of the actors that we’ve talked to, yeah.  But, you know. It’s not often that I read about actors that I’m going to be meeting … that I get to read articles about actors who are going to come in. And so I get to see someone and say, ‘Oh, I read that I’m going to see you.’ … It’s usually agents talking to people about what’s happening. It’s a lot of noise.

Given the super secrecy surrounding this project, the confirmation that Plemons did meet with Abrams is probably the biggest news to come out thus far.  However, actors meeting with directors isn’t an uncommon event and with “Star Wars”, you can bet a lot of actors are meeting with Abrams and company as they try and put together a cast to carry on the franchise.  It seems like an arduous task, but with the film possibly releasing next December, it’ll have to be resolved very soon.
