Chadwick Boseman is continuing to push his rising star a little further after having a breakout year in 2013. From bit parts on television to starring in the hit Jackie Robinson biopic “42″, Boseman is hoping to keep the momentum going this year with a James Brown biopic “Get on Up” and the Kevin Costner film “Draft Day”.
And what else does the future hold for this talented young actor? According to Deadline, he’s just been cast in the Alex Proyas action-adventure film “Gods of Egypt.” Joining him will be Gerard Butler, Geoffrey Rush, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Brenton Thwaites, and Courtney Eaton. Summit Entertainment is handling the picture and is looking to release it on February 12, 2016.
“Gods of Egypt” stars Gerard Butler as Set, the Egyptian god of Darkness, who usurps the ruler of Egypt so that he may have control of the land. Brenton Thwaites plays one of the few humans opposed to Set’s rule. Knowing that he is outmatched, Thwaites’ characters seeks out the aide of Horus (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) to take on Set. In the film Boseman will play Thoth, the God of Wisdom.
