James Bond didn’t get to be the super spy that he is today by telling all of his secrets. So far all we know about the next installment in the Bond franchise is that it’s coming out in November of next year. But can of all Bond’s associates keep a secret?
In an interview with IGN, screenwriter John Logan was pressed about the upcoming James Bond sequel he is currently working on. Under fear of death (possibly by a thrown hat) Logan would only impart minor details.
My goal is to write a great movie that’s appropriate, to build on what we did on Skyfall, but make it its own unique animal. The themes, ideas and the characters from Skyfall can obviously continue on, because it is a franchise, and it is an ongoing story. So I think there’s a resonance from Skyfall in the new movie.
And what of the iconic Bond villain Ernst Stavro Blofeld who recently returned to Eon’s position. Will he make an appearance in the Bond series? Logan was deceptively vague in his answer, a move even Bond would be proud of.
You know, I think our villain is appropriate to the story we’re telling.
James Bond will return when the yet to be named sequel hits theaters on November 6, 2015.
