Duncan Jones Now In Charge Of The World Of Warcraft Movie

WARCRAFT, the big screen adaptation of the popular online game World of Warcraft written by Charles Leavitt has a new director in the form of Duncan Jones. Jones whose last film SOURCE CODE was one of my favorite films of 2011 and whose 2008 film MOON is one of my favorite modern science fiction movies was floating in-between projects before this news. WARCRAFT had previously been said to have Sam Raimi attached to direct and looks to start shooting in Fall of 2013 with a release well off in the distance of 2015.

Jones’ jump to WARCRAFT gives him a pretty hefty budget to work with- something I’m personally excited about though I’ve never played the game myself. The director has done spectacular things with the budgets given to him especially in his ambitious science fiction film MOON which starred Sam Rockwell, looked phenomenal and barely cost $1 million. Legendary Pictures is in charge of the big screen adaptation and no casting or story information has been made available.

What do you think of Duncan Jones directing WARCRAFT?
