From TRANSFORMERS to full on real life sex on screen is apparently the career trajectory for Shia LaBeouf. The actor has said recently that his new film from director Lars von Trier will feature real sex scenes- something not all that shocking in terms of von Trier’s films.
The statement, while perhaps suspect coming from LaBepuf’s mouth is maybe not so shocking when you take into consideration that von Trier is directing and the film’s title is NYMPHOMANIAC and is about a woman’s obsession with sex throughout her life. In many ways this sounds to be the female version of SHAME except for the fact that von Trier is known for pulling out all the stops.
The film will star Charlotte Gainsbourg and Nicole Kidman in addition to LaBeouf. I have to admit that as cold as I am usually left by the end of a von Trier film they often feature some pretty great performances, so it might be refreshing to see LaBeouf doing something a little more mature for a change- and by that I mean by doing Gainsbourg or Kidman of course (instert rimshot).
Does the allure of actual sex make you more inclined to check a movie out, less inclined or could you care less?
