The Dark Knight Rises Spoilers: Where Will The Remake Take us?

The Dark Knight Rises Spoilers: Where Will The Remake Take us? The Dark Knight Rises just exploded into theaters this weekend and I for one was there to see it a long with quite a few others. Surprisingly the theater was far from full and I saw it with maybe 30 other people but to me that was just an added bonus seeing it without a bunch of sweaty mouth breathers around me.

The Dark Knight Rises is expected to bring in just over $170million this weekend based on box office gurus but it could end up being lower because of the shocking shooting at a theater in the United States where over 70 people were shot and 12 killed during a screening of The Dark Knight Rises. A complete tragedy our hearts go out to the victims. They lost their lives needlessly enjoying something we all love, film.

I will warn you that as we move forward in this post it will be extremely spoiler heavy and if you have not yet The Dark Knight Rises you need to turn back immediately.

Over the last few months we have speculated and debated to no end about The Dark Knight Rises and the internet trolls which are one step lower than a heckler gave us no end of abuse. We made a few noteable predictions for The Dark Knight Rises and all of them got us some good debate and no end of vicious abuse. These predictions were;

  • The John Blake was in Fact Robin or some other sidekick ala Night Wing / Azrael
  • That Marion Tate was in fact Talia Al Ghul
  • The Batman would die in this the final DArk Knight movie
  • That Warner Brothers would not let Christopher Nolan kill Batman which would mean some sort of compromise.

Joseph Gordon Levitt indeed wasnt just an average beat cop despite Christopher Nolan saying he was. Marion Tate was the mastermind behind BANE and played Talia Al Ghul and yes… sadly Batman did die in the end of The Dark Knight Rises. Most noteably was the way the death played out which to me was a smart studio move to leave the opportunity to keep Christian Bale in play for a possible cameo in the remake planned for 2015.

These points all made where do we go from here? With Warner Brothers planning to release another Batman movie a year after Zack Snyder’s Superman Man of Steel where can the story take us?

Warner Brothers will desperately need two things, an original concept and a strong leading man who can hold up against Christian Bale’s performance. Fortunately they have a great list of source material and Christopher Nolan has gracefully introduced a new leading man and passed the mantle to the new Batman…. Azrael.

Joseph Gordon Levitt is not only a great leading man but he also would be perfect as Azrael or better yet they could have him play Night Wing.

Where do you think Warner Brothers should take the film series? And if anyone says back to the days of Val Kilmer and George Clooney I will groan!
