The Walking Dead Season 3 is creeping close by the minute like a giant horde of shambling zombies looking to capture our flesh. Recently two new photos have exploded onto the web featuring two very key characters one you should already know about, The Governor and the second a great photo of a key returning character that we all loved from Season 1.
To start things off we have a brand new photo of BAFTA award nominee David Morrissey who was cast to play the villain in Season 3 the incredibly diabolical Governor. This will be a massive move in the series as we head down very dark territory where the zombies become the lesser threat as we head to the prison.
In a recent interview with, TV Guide Robert Kirkman expressed his own excitement over Season 3 of The Walking dead and David Morrissey as The Governor:
“Seeing The Walking Dead come to life on AMC has been a real thrill for me, obviously, and moving into Season 3 I’m even more excited than ever because now I feel like we’re really getting to ‘the good stuff,’” Kirkman tells TVGuide.com. “Having The Governor in the mix is going to fundamentally change the show in all kinds of awesome and exiting ways. And David Morrissey totally rocks!”
In a nutshell The Governor is the leader of a large group of survivors and in Season 3 of The Walking Dead he will bring pain and suffering to the Grimes family and Rick will regret the day that they ever crossed paths.
This is of course assuming that the series continues to at least loosely follow the graphic novels that it is based off of. There has been alot of internet speculation that although The Governor will appear in the next season of Walking Dead he will not have the same role as he did in the graphic novels. The Governor was such a popular character from The Walking Dead series that the graphic novels creator Robert Kirkman did a book entirely for him titled The Walking Dead: Rise of the Governor.
The second new photo that has hit the web for AMC’s The Walking Dead Season 3 see’s the return of one of the key figures from season 1. If you are a true blue die hard you know who I am talking about for the rest of you its the much anticipated return of Merle the left for dead villain from Season 1 played by Michael Rooker.
As you all know his brother Daryl has been travelling with the group since his brother was presumed dead in Atlanta and his re-introduction to the story will invoke a Cain and Able angle as the two brothers will either unite together or face off against one another.
