Caesar Interviews Peeta In Newest Hunger Games Clip

THE HUNGER GAMES premieres in LA this evening and there has been some buzz going around about the film’s quality- good buzz that is- and today a new clip was released that features Peeta’s pre-Games interview with Caesar Flickerman. This is a clip that plays up the romantic triangle of the book because in it Peeta drops a pretty big bomb that shocks the audience as well as Katniss, the girl from his district that he is supposed to be hell bent on killing during the Hunger Games. There’s also a brief shot of Woody Harrelson as Haymitch standing with Katniss as they watch Peeta’s interview. I have to say I really enjoyed the clip, brief as it is- this close to release more clips do little than tease even more. Another notable thing about the clip is how Stanley Tucci appears to have fit the bill of Caesar Flickerman perfectly.

“Every year in the ruins of what was once North America, the evil Capitol of the nation of Panem forces each of its twelve districts to send a teenage boy and girl to compete in the Hunger Games. A twisted punishment for a past uprising and an ongoing government intimidation tactic, The Hunger Games are a nationally televised event in which “Tributes” must fight with one another until one survivor remains. Pitted against highly-trained Tributes who have prepared for these Games their entire lives, Katniss is forced to rely upon her sharp instincts as well as the mentorship of drunken former victor Haymitch Abernathy. If she’s ever to return home to District 12, Katniss must make impossible choices in the arena that weigh survival against humanity and life against love.”
