The 12 Best Nicolas Cage Movies

Kick Ass

Really this is one of the films on my list that should need no explanation what so ever. Kick Ass is one of the best comic book movies made. Period. Some might say that about X-Men or even Iron Man but I for one say Kick Ass is the greatest comic book movie of all time to date. Nicolas Cage turns in a fantastic performance as Big Daddy a Batman knock off who packs heat and a brutal left hook.

In Kick Ass teenager Dave Lizewski is an unnoticed high school student and comic book fan who one day decides to become a super-hero, even though he has no powers, training or meaningful reason to do so.

8mm

Some of you may remember director Joel Schumaker for the debacle of Batman movies he made. And yes I mean debacle! The horrible Batman Forever or even worse Batman and Robin. That said he has made some great films including Falling Down and this one, 8mm which stars Nicolas Cage.

In 8mm Nicolas Cage plays a private investigator who is hired to discover if a “snuff film” is authentic or not.

Leaving Las Vegas

I think the only other actress from the 90′s that I love as much as Tea Leoni is Elizabeth Shue. She starred alongside Nicolas Cage in Leaving Las Vegas a film of individual destruction and friendships that are built from it.

Nicolas Cage plays Ben Sanderson, an alcoholic Hollywood screenwriter who lost everything because of his drinking, arrives in Las Vegas to drink himself to death. There, he meets and forms an uneasy friendship and non-interference pact with prostitute Sera played by Elizabeth Shue

What about Adaptation? It is a must see and one of Cage’s brilliant performances.

No Adaptation? He plays two great characters in that, and got nominated for an oscar.

What about “Bringing Out The dead” and ‘Adpatation” those were both really good movies?
