Steve Jobs, Tech Icon, Has Died!

I am literally in complete shock right now. Who knew that somebody I did not know could touch my heart so deeply. Steve Jobs creator of the iPhone, iPad, iPod, iMac and iTunes, has died at the age of 56.

Steve Jobs single-handedly recreated the world of the personal computer when he founded Apple in 1976 but he did so much more in the last decade with the advent of the Iphone , Itunes and Ipad.

Steve Jobs brought things like portable movie watching and streaming video to a whole new audience with products like the Ipad and in my humble view is a key reason that streaming movies and video on demand caught on so quickly with mainstream film fans.

Steve Jobs intellect and the products that he and his team developed made things that were once unthinkable mainstream. Who would have thought for a second you could make a phone call while watching the latest Batman movie trailer on your iphone? Or sit on your deck with an ipad watching the latest movies on Netflix? Both of which I have done !

Steve Jobs will be horribly missed by geeks everywhere myself included and average joes who were touched not by him personally but by the technology that he created that connected each and every one of us with our loved ones.

I feel a hole in my heart writing this and wish all the best to his family in this very painful time! Apple’s site has been changed to show the image below and the following message;

“Apple has lost a visionary and creative genius, and the world has lost an amazing human being. Those of us who have been fortunate enough to know and work with Steve have lost a dear friend and an inspiring mentor. Steve leaves behind a company that only he could have built, and his spirit will forever be the foundation of Apple.”
