8 – Shades of Ray: Hey, another movie you can watch with your girlfriend. But more-so than TiMER, this is one you’ll enjoy immensely. It’s hilarious, heart-felt and well-written. It’s the story of half-Pakistani/half-white bartender Ray (Zachary Levi, Chuck) trying to make his break in acting, who is waiting for his white girlfriend to give an answer to his marriage proposal. While his girlfriend is out of town, he falls for a beautiful girl (Sarah Shahi) who shares the same mixed heritage. To be honest, it’s impossible not to fall for someone who looks like Sarah Shahi. Brian George absolutely steals the show in some of the scenes and gets you laughing out loud as Ray’s obnoxious father. There’s no one that won’t enjoy this movie.
9 – Bane: This movie isn’t good – it’s gory, under-financed, and seems to be made by someone straight out of film school. BUT, with that said, I could not stop watching. Four women wake up in an underground prison with no recollection of how they got there, and to make things worse they each have a set of four-digit numbers carved into their arms telling them the exact time they will die.The CG was kept clean and minimal and there’s enough blood to satisfy any horror fan. Out of all the movies on this list, this one requires the most faith in luck to select out of Netflix’s entire viewing selection. Do it though, there’s a cool little twist at the end. Take a chance on it. Who knows, you could end up loving it.
10 – Dead Snow: This is another one of those flat-out fun movies. It’s in Norwegian, so that may be a problem for some of you, but would Nazi zombies bring you back on the bandwagon? Well that’s exactly what this is – It’s Evil Dead but with Nazi zombies. Basically, a bunch of college kids camp out in a friends cabin in the mountains when the party is soon interrupted by bands of Nazi zombies who once occupied the area. It’s funny, violent, ridiculous, and everything you want from a movie offering Nazi zombies. This is one for you and your buddies.
So that’s it, 10 movies to watch before you get bored with your Netflix selection again. Unfortunately, there are more than just 10 hidden gems on Netflix and we had to leave a few movies off.
Is there something you felt should have made the list? If so, let us know in the comments section below and we’ll try to add it to the next one of these we do.
