Coming to Video On Demand this Labor Day is Kevin Smith’s RED STATE. Today comes the official release of an extended red band trailer and new poster. The trailer gives you much more footage than the previously released teaser, a little too much some might say, but it gives you a clear look at what you’re in for while watching it. The trailer also features some high praise from Mr. Quentin Tarantino as well.
RED STATE follows a trio of high school kids who get tangled up with a violent group of church folk and stars Michael Parks, John Goodman, Kyle Gallner and Melissa Leo. You can read my review of the film HERE. Kevin Smith took RED STATE out on the road earlier this year and is planning a Canadian tour soon as well. RED STATE will also be showing in an Academy-Qualifying Engagement for one week from August 19th to the 25th at the New Beverly Cinema in LA. The film will see release on Video On Demand services as well as a limited theatrical release at some point in October, followed by a DVD release.
