Earlier in the week a teaser trailer for The Dark Knight Rises hit the web in what appears to be some sort of private screening.
The audience goes hog wild as the teaser trailer plays out and really reveals little about the upcoming third and final film in the Batman Franchise. That is at least until Warner Brothers reboots it again 5 years from now.
Checkout the trailer below and then ask yourself if you think this trailer is real or perhaps it is an elaborate fake?
The trailer as you have now seen pretty much shows a whole lot of nothing at all and were it not for the bootleg style it was shot in and the live audience cheering we would all dismiss it as a fake immediately. Unfortunately even a real audience and a bootleg shooting format still makes it about as real as a wooden nickel.
The trailer is an obvious fake because first off it shows nothing. There is no way Warner Brothers would release a trailer which offers absolutely nothing to fans and builds no momentum. Other signs its a fake include the fact it has the wrong MPAA slate at the start of the film. It should say ‘appropriate audiences’ not ‘all audiences’. The MPAA slate is simply from an older movie.
The actual Warner Brothers / Legendary logos are ripped completely off from the Clash of the Titans trailer which is also a large red flag and last but not least those awesome bats on the blood red sky? Yeah those are fake to… I search of youtube turns up a BBC Fruit bat video that looks awfully familiar.
As far as fakes go this is actually a pretty good fake trailer because of how it was shot and the fact they were somehow able to get it on a theatre screen to capture an honest audience reation. I think that more then anything it was the audience response and the style in which it was shot that made this otherwise blatantly fake trailer go viral across the web. ( via PrettyMuchit )
