Total Film has just released their review of Transformers Dark of the Moon and its one of those reviews you have to read and think about to decide the film verdict.
Rotten Tomatoes has flagged the review as Fresh and admittedly it has good things to say about Transformers 3 but it also has some really negative things to say.
Here is a quick key snippet of what they have to say about the movie, the story, the action and lets be honest what we really want to know… how good or bad of an idea it was to replace Megan Fox with a Victoria Secret model with 0 acting experience.
Total Film writes that the movie took an incredibly long time for the characters both flesh and metal to actually reveal which side they were on and as Total Film puts it ‘show their true colors’. As we have heard in other early reviews the film is incredibly long and drawn out and takes an overly long period of time to get to the meat and potatoes of the film with a heavy emphasis on character development which can be good and bad depending on whether you can stick with the movie.
Much like in the review that AICN did they also say that the final one hour of the movie is a complete blood bath as Chicago is ripped stem from stern and completely and utterly destroyed.
They say the film features not one, not two, not three but four climatic showdowns in the final hour of the film. They also had some choice words about Megan Fox’s replacement Rosie Huntington Whiteley. They write that her acting is awful… with heavy emphasis on awful.
Her acting they say is so bad that she ends up impacting the other actors characters around her especially Shia LaBeouf’s character Sam. They say that Rosie is so bad that Shia who isn’t the greatest actor to begin with suffers as well.
To sum it up Total Film indicates that the movie is extremely long, very winded, and works its way to a money shot action sequence that features an hour of insane robot induced destruction. ( read the entire review at TotalFilm this is but a small snippet ). The fact that Huntington-Whiteley sucks as an actress should come as no surprise. This is not me being a prick or bagging on her its facts. It would be no different than Michael Bay tapping me to star. I have never acted and it would show. Total film gives Transformers Dark of the Moon 3 out of 5 stars.
About a month ago AICN also posted their review of Transformers 3 but they were alot more excited about the movie then Total Film appears to be. Regardless of how long the movie is or how bad the acting of Rosie Huntington-Whiteley’s is I will be going to see this movie. What did you think of Transformers 3?
