A couple years ago the buzz surrounding THE HUMAN CENTIPEDE (FIRST SEQUENCE) made it a much sought after film on the web with people looking to see just what all the hype was about. Personally while I find the material quite grotesque, I thought the actual content was pretty tame in comparison to the premise. I even thought the performance by the doctor was pretty great, while the girls were dreadfully annoying. Tom Six has since made some bold statements that THE HUMAN CENTIPEDE (FULL SEQUENCE) would be like “the little ponies” in comparison to the first film and now it appears the film has been banned in the UK.
IFC will be releasing the film in the US at some point and the producers have six weeks to appeal the decision in the UK. The extent of a US release is still unknown. “The Human Centipede II (Full Sequence), tells the story of a man who becomes sexually obsessed with a DVD recording of the first film and who imagines putting the ‘centipede’ idea into practice. Unlike the first film, the sequel presents graphic images of sexual violence, forced defecation, and mutilation, and the viewer is invited to witness events from the perspective of the protagonist. Whereas in the first film the ‘centipede’ idea is presented as a revolting medical experiment, with the focus on whether the victims will be able to escape, this sequel presents the ‘centipede’ idea as the object of the protagonist’s depraved sexual fantasy.”
