Trailer Premiere For Fright Night Remake

Trailer Premiere For Fright Night RemakeWhen the remake of FRIGHT NIGHT was announced it had lots of horror fans collectively screaming WHY!? Well, with the premiere of the new trailer it’s not likely to change their minds. Everything about the trailer just screams generic by-the-numbers fluff. There doesn’t seem to be anything separating itself from any of the watered down reboots and remakes and appears that it will rely heavily on the jump scare.

I was late in the game when it comes to watching the original FRIGHT NIGHT. It was always on my must watch list and when I finally saw it, I liked it but I didn’t love it, so the announcement of the remake didn’t send me into a violent rage. The trailer does not impress me, but I have to say that it looks quite polished and looks like it MIGHT contain some interesting scenes. I like Collin Farrell and at times it looks like he fits the role pretty well, but Anton Yelchin just does not sell any part of his role from what I saw in the trailer. FRIGHT NIGHT opens on August 19, 2011.

What do you think about the trailer?

What’s up with the lack of David Tennant-y goodness? :(

Saw the remake at a prescreening tonight, I was shocked by how good it actually was. Most remakes suck but this one blended the humor and the “horror” quite well.
