Photo of Tom Hardy As Bane In The Dark Knight Rises

Principal photography has indeed begun for Christopher Nolan and his new Batman film THE DARK KNIGHT RISES. It hasn’t taken long for things to really kick up a notch as not only has a viral campaign begun, but we also have our first look at Tom Hardy as the villain Bane which you can scope out below. THE DARK KNIGHT RISES has been on the top of my must see list before they even announced it was happening and this photo just makes me wish the film was being released tomorrow. It’s very simple, but just the look of the character seems like we are already in for something pretty spectacular. It might be going overboard in saying that, since it’s just a pretty generic picture, but the fact that we’ve gotten anything this early is pretty exciting. Check out the photo below that I found courtesy of /Film.

Christopher Nolan returns to direct what will presumably be the last of his Batman movies with Tom Hardy, Christian Bale, Anne Hathaway, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Gary Oldman, Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine and Marion Cotillard stepping in to star. It remains to be seen if Anne Hathaway, who will play Selina Kyle, will end up transforming into Catwoman or if there will be another villain instead or even on top of Catwoman and Bane. Regardless, Christopher Nolan has been extremely skillful with the series as well as every other film he’s directed so I believe we will be in store for something fantastic. THE DARK KNIGHT RISES is tentatively scheduled to open on July 12, 2012.

What do you guys things of the first production photo of Bane?

If Nolan seriously intends to portray Selina Kyle without incorporating Catwoman I’ll be boycotting the whole thing
