Attack of the Killer Tomatoes Remake Updates

Attack of the Killer Tomatoes Remake UpdatesUndeadSpasm had a chance to John Debello who directed Return of the Killer Tomatoes about the long discussed reboot/remake of the b-movie horror comedy about giant killer tomatoes that attack mankind. Back in 2008 there was some talk of a reboot and now comes the first update in many years. John says that unfortunately there has not been much progress on the remake but he is hoping to see it happen and has big big dreams. He see’s it as the Avatar of killer-vegetable-horror-comedies. He tells them quote;

“My personal preference is a $300 million 3D version helmed by James Cameron, with me receiving a $20 million consulting fee and a brief cameo, but I always wake up from that dream just as I’m cashing the check. Seriously, the Hollywood route is probably most appealing, if for no other reason than that it’d be fun to see a big-budget remake of a no-budget indie … sort of fits the Killer Tomato dynamic of infinite absurdity.

But again… Ya Never Know. I’ll be sure to keep you posted if/when the Vicious Veggies roll again.”

I absolutely loved the Return of the Killer Tomatoes and its also one of George Clooney’s first film roles. Its corny, its cheesy and its packed full of b-movie stupidity. If you have not seen this movie then do yourself a favor and check it out!
