It looks as if Peter Jackson’s THE HOBBIT is shaping up to be a class reunion of sorts for the LORD OF THE RINGS alumni. It’s already been set that Cate Blanchett and Elijah Wood will be returning but also rumors of Christopher Lee returning as well. Deadline is reporting now that Andy Serkis is in negotiations to reprise his role as Gollum for THE HOBBIT.
The story states there has not been a confirmation on Serkis’ side yet, but with his involvement in the LORD OF THE RINGS trilogy and his prominent involvement in Jackson’s movies of late it seems likely his return is imminent. Jackson is set to begin filming THE HOBBIT in February and will be distributed worldwide by Warner Bros.
