After “Speed Racer” and the sequels to “The Matrix”, should we really care what Andy and Lana Wachowski are doing? Did they build up that much cache with the first “Matrix” movie? It appears they did, as the Internets is all a-flutter over the latest news that the siblings are working on yet another take on Robin Hood. Collider is reporting that it will be a “modern, urban take” of the story, with the Wachowskis reportedly in talks with Will Smith to star. Smith turned down the role of Neo in “The Matrix” so he could star in “Wild, Wild West” instead. Oops.
Does the movie going public really need another rendition of the Robin Hood story? According to the box office returns of Ridley Scott’s “Robin Hood”, we don’t need it or want it. The only way a new Will Smith as Robin Hood movie is okay with me is if Will grows the hair you see here on Kevin Costner. Look at that mullet. It’s fantastic.
If I had any Photoshop skills, I would put that hair on Will Smith.
