THE TOXIC AVENGER will be getting a makeover by HOT TUB TIME MACHINE director, Steve Pink, according to Deadline. Pink, who also directed college comedy, ACCEPTED, says that “THE TOXIC AVENGER is exactly what the world needs right now.” Pink also has writing credits under his belt that include GROSS POINTE BLANK and HIGH FIDELITY.
The original TOXIC AVENGER film was released in 1984 and was directed by Michael Herz and Lloyd Kaufman. The film followed a Tromaville Health Club mop boy, who inadvertently ends up in a vat of toxic waste which transforms him and releases his alter ego. Shara Kay is will co-produce with Kerry Foster stepping in as executive producer along with Lloyd Kaufman and Michael Herz.
