Sci-Fi Trailer Duncan Jones’s Source Code

You might remember a little movie from 2009 called Moon, starring Sam Rockwell and made by Duncan Jones (son of David Bowie). You might also remember that it was fantastic.

Jones has a new movie expected to hit next spring, called Source Code. The trailer is online, and it looks like an insanely mindblowing sci-fi thriller.

It’s The Matrix meets meets Groundhog Day by way of Quantum Leap as Jake Gyllenaal keeps jacking in to relive the eight minutes leading up to a train bombing in Chicago over and over until he figures out the culprit before a repeat bombing happens elsewhere. If that weren’t enough, Source Code boasts a hell of a supporting cast: Michelle Monaghan, Vera Farmiga and Jeffrey Wright.

Duncan Jones has another sci-fi flick in the works: the Blade Runner-esque Mute, which takes place in the same universe as Moon. There are so few good sci-fi films out these days, so I’m pleased to see that Jones is trying to fix that.

As a huge Bowie fan for more than 20 years, and a life-long sci-fi fan, nothing could make me happier than to see Duncan Jones make movies as good as this! “Moon” was one of the best of 2009, in my opinion, and this new one looks to be fantastic! Can’t wait!!!
