Harry Potter is one rich wizard, or at least its creator is. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 opened last night for its Midnight Screenings and raked in some serious coin. Considering over 2,000 theaters sold out this comes as absolutely no shock. The near record breaking box office results put Harry Potter just behind Twilight New Moon with $22.2million making it the second biggest midnight showing.
The film was broken into two parts so that the story could be ‘fully fleshed out and told’ but lets be honest, it was broken up for the piggy banks. This is the last film in the franchise which has made the creators and the studio billions of dollars and by breaking Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows into two films it just means more moolah in the cookie jar! Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 will hit theaters in July. Did you watch it last night at the midnight screening? Tell us what you thought. Look for our review from ‘Chic’ later today.
