If you asked me who the best actor working today is, I’m going to go with Leonardo DiCaprio 100% of the time. He’s the total package. He doesn’t make stupid, pointless movies and he’s always top notch in them. If anything, he’s too good every single time out and he’s set the bar way too high for himself.
It looks like that once DiCaprio is done cross-dressing and fighting organized crime in Clint Eastwood’s J. Edgar Hoover biopic, he’s going to really switch it up and play Dr. HH Homes, the man believed to be America’s first serial killer in “Devil in the White City”. This guy owned a hotel in Chicago and started wasting guests during the World’s Fair in 1893. As with all things in Hollywood, that’s all the news on this project so far, as now they will shop around for a writer and a director and a studio…all things that one would normally expect to have finished first. Show business is so awesome.
For quite some time, I’ve thought that DiCaprio needed to switch it up and play a villain. He’s seems to gravitate towards the conflicted hero role, but he’s got that edge to him in which he could easily be evil. Believe me, after a quick glance at HH Holmes’ Wikipedia page, this guy is really, really bad. He not only was a confessed murderer, he was a shady real estate owner and a bigamist. So yeah, he sounds like a real sweetheart. Doesn’t sound like this is going to appeal to the chicks that still have embroidered Jack Dawson pillows.
