More Conjecture From Dan Aykroyd About Ghostbusters 3

More Conjecture From Dan Aykroyd About Ghostbusters 3At this point, any rumor regarding a third “Ghostbusters” movie should be taken as nothing more than a non-starter. If anything, these rumors only seem to perpetually keep Dan Aykroyd’s name in the news. Really, other than Bill Murray constantly shooting down any chance that he would appear in such a movie, who else but Aykroyd keeps bringing this stuff up?

In a recent radio interview for WGN Chicago, Aykroyd mentioned that Bill Hader and Anna Faris are “strong possibilities” to star in the sequel that will never be made. He also name-dropped Eliza Dushku, then claimed that Murray and Sigourney Weaver are both in.

If you haven’t picked up on it, I hope this movie never happens. In fact, I’m hoping that it never happens as the rotten taste of “Ghostbusters 2″ still somewhat soils the greatness of the original movie. Want me to up the stakes? I’d rather watch reruns of the crappy cartoon series than see another “Ghostbusters” movie. You know what? Starring in a movie like this only hurts Bill Murray’s chance at what he most deserves: a retroactive Academy Award for Best Actor in “Lost In Translation”.

someone is bitter about more than just a possible ghostbusters. i was a kid when these movies came out and i enjoyed them along with the cartoon. i guess if you want to nit pick the hell out of these things they arent as entertaining…..

Did you really just call “The Real Ghosbusters” crappy? It was highly original, had great stories and music along with animation that was above anything else at the time. Also last year, IGN named “The Real Ghostbusters” the 22nd best show in the Top 100 Best Animated TV Shows! Everyone I know watched the show along with TMNT and Transformers. You and your opinions suck.

  3. It’s going to happen whether you like it or not and further more, GBII is no where as good as the first film but it is certainly better than most things I’ve seen Hollywood produce over the past few years.

What a sour fucking prick you are. An absolute piece of shit. Wanker.

Thank you for saying what you said. I saw the original film 10 times in the summer of 84, and to this day I am a huge fan of the original Ghostbusters. A new film is a horrible idea! Do we really need a new Ghostbusters for the “Step up”generation? I’m guessing all the people that want this movie to happen need a new film to bitch about when it inevitably blows.

Jesus, it was hard to make it through that news with the insane amount of bitter nerd rage sprinkled throughout.

Here’s what I got from all that overly emotional crap. Dan Aykroyd is irrelevant, Murray and Weaver being involved is a fantasy of Aykroyd’s, The Real Ghostbusters cartoon sucked, Ghostbusters 2 sucked (and 20 years later you still have sand in your vagina over it) And lastly, the movie will never be made. Okay so – if you insist the movie isn’t happening doesn’t that make writing about it pointless?

May as well write about Howard the Duck 2.

Ughhhh. I’m all for a little humor here and there in a news piece but this was ridiculous. It’s like reading the news as told by some angry and rebellious 14 year who HATES every fucking thing.

Wow, The Real Ghostbusters awful? What are you a moron? The Real Ghostbusters is one of the greatest cartoons ever and it’s a shame kids these days don’t realize what they’re missing out on with all the crap out there on tv nowadays. And Ghostbusters II isn’t half as bad as people jackasses like yourself make it out to be. It’s good, just not as good as the original. A problem most sequels have. And why is it so impossible Bill Murray or Sigourney Weaver would sign on for the role. Weaver I know for a fact has been quoted as saying she would love to return if a sequel ever gets made and while Murray hasn’t been the most optimistic about the project, you never know when the guy is serious or just pulling people’s legs. I’ll admit a third Ghostbusters is more likely to suck then it is to be good, but to say Dan Aykroyd is irrelevant and how crappy the cartoon and GBII were is just crap. I’ll have you know guys like Dan Aykroyd or Harold Ramis or Bill Murray are way funnier and more talented then the so calld comedians of today and while their relevance will fade in the future, people like Aykroyd’s will remain strong.

If they’re still talking about killing off Peter Venkman, I honestly hope Ghostbusters 3 doesn’t happen.

WoW,This was the worst review i’ve ever read sounds like you have more of a disliking for Dan Aykroyd then the film.Ghostbusters II wasnt bad but not as great as the original name a sequal that is.Now for GB III i think its a good idea aslong as they move away from Sigourney Weaver being the center of the plot to me thats what destroyed GB II.If fresh faces where involved with GB II it could have been a better movie.I’m all for GB III IF they fing a creative way to bring it up to date but keeping the original look

I agree with everyone’s comments here. I seriously hope this spiteful bitch isn’t actually getting paid to write this poor excuse for entertainment news.

  13. Citizen Kane

Uh, how in the hell is Dan Aykroyd insignificant? Dan Aykroyd is a LEGEND. Who in the hell wrote this article?? Crappy cartoon show? You know the ONLY movie I’ve EVER walked out on? Lost in Translation. Me and my date looked at each other about 30 min. in and said, “Yaaaawn…f**k this.” Ghostbusters 3 WILL happen…and when it does – I hope you hate it. Jeez, how in the hell did you get a job as a writer?

  14. Awesomesauce

Ghostbusters II was awesome, so were the first two seasons of “The Real Ghosbusters”. You’re a dickhead.

Na the author of this pos is getting paid to write every word. Secretly he’s crying about it on the other side of his key board command center. This author loves all things gb and sat there in his gb fan made uniform as he/she types this. It pains them to say these mean and hurtful things about Dan and the gb franchise in general. It also could be reverse psychology if you say it wont happen then it will. So in this case wishful thinking.

If you honestly thought “The real ghostbusters” sucked, than you deserve to live in a sewer for the rest of your life….I must say that Ghostbusters is arguably the best movie of the 80′s and you completely rape it of all credibility…Why dont you go be a martyr somewhere else…GHOSTBUSTERS ROCKS!!!!!!
